WHY THIS PROGRAM

WHAT YOU’LL GAIN

You already know how to do the job — this program teaches you how to lead the people doing it with you.
Over eight half-day sessions, twice a month from September 2026 through January 2027, the ACI Leadership in Construction Program gives working supervisors, forepeople, superintendents, and project managers the communication, conflict-resolution, and people skills that technical training doesn’t cover.
You’ll leave with tools you can use the next day, a regional network of construction leaders who’ve sat in the same seat, new perspectives and a more confident way of leading — building on the skills you already have.

  • Communication skills that work across diverse crews
  • Tools to defuse conflict before it derails a project
  • Strategies to mentor the people coming up behind you
  • A peer network of construction leaders across the region

THE BUSINESS CASE

Strong Leaders Strengthen the Bottom Line

Investing in leadership training is one of the highest-leverage moves we can make in construction. When we invest in our leaders, we benefit from that investment:

Reduced Turnover

People don’t leave companies. They leave supervisors. This program equips participants to motivate, retain, and develop talent.

Safer, More Productive Jobsites

Leaders who can read a crew, defuse conflict, and surface concerns early prevent the incidents — and the downstream costs — that derail schedules.

Repeat Business

The same skills that build strong internal teams build the client and trade-partner relationships that win the next job.

COMMON QUESTIONS

Sessions are half-days (8 AM – 12 PM), held twice a month over five months. The schedule is designed so participants can be back on site by early afternoon.

Yes — and we encourage it. Teams that go through the program together share a common vocabulary and reinforce each other once they’re back on the job. Contact Kimberly Spreder about group registrations. kspreder@aci-construction.org

Not at all. We welcome non-ACI members, although members receive preferred pricing and priority of registration if the course is filling.

“… ACI Leadership in Construction challenged how I think about communication, safety culture, and leading people through change. The discussions were practical, relevant, and immediately applicable to real jobsite situations. This program sharpened my approach to leadership and made me more effective with my team— not by changing who I am, but by refining how I lead.”

Strong frontline leadership is built on purpose, not by accident. ACI Leadership in Construction is the program that builds leadership skills beyond the technical aspect, strengthening individuals, teams, and ultimately our industry.
