Allied Construction Industries (ACI) announced that Scott Whittle, Hummel Industries, Inc., will be serving as the next Board of Directors President, effective immediately. Phil O’Brien, Turner Construction Company, will be serving as Current Past President.

Scott steps into the president role after serving as a general board member since 2016 and as part of the Executive Committee since 2018. Scott’s involvement with ACI started 20 years ago, and he has held seats on four committees, including chairing the Scholarship Committee.

“It is an honor to accept this position with ACI,” said Whittle. “I am excited to have the opportunity to work closely with the amazing staff and board at ACI to continue to offer first-class services for our members and to help tackle challenges that we all face in the construction industry, particularly workforce development.”

Outside of ACI, Scott is the president of Hummel Industries, Inc., a specialty construction company focusing on masonry and concrete repair and maintenance. He has worked at Hummel since September 1998 and was appointed president in 2012. Scott is the fifth ACI Board of Directors President representing Hummel.

“ACI is incredibly fortunate to have yet another phenomenal industry leader as its board, next president,” said Jordan Vogel, ACI’s Executive Director. Scott Whittle has been a tremendously thoughtful and effective board member these past many years, and I’m excited to work closely with him in his new role as ACI’s board president. There is no doubt in my mind that Scott will help us take things to the next level for our members,” Vogel added.

Scott is a graduate of the University of Cincinnati, where he studied Construction Management, Architecture, and Business.
