SHE BUILDS CAMP

Where Girls Build Bold Futures in Construction

She Builds Camp is a unique summer experience created by Allied Construction Industries (ACI) in partnership with Girl Scouts of Western Ohio.

Designed to open doors for girls into the world of construction, this one-of-a-kind camp introduces middle and high school Girl Scouts to the tools, trades, and transformative power of building.

Over the last three years, She Builds Camp has left a lasting legacy at Camp Whip Poor Will—literally. Campers, under the mentorship of local construction professionals, have helped build a new amphitheater stage, seating, and most recently, a fully functioning boathouse for canoe storage. These projects give girls not only a hands-on experience, but also the pride of creating something lasting.

Through engaging, mentor-led activities, campers explore:

  • Bridge design and construction
  • Plumbing and electrical systems
  • Carpentry and welding
  • Safety and engineering concepts

By working alongside women and men who lead the region’s construction industry, girls gain critical insight into careers in the built environment—careers that offer creativity, teamwork, and excellent pay. And in a field where only 10.9% of the workforce is female, She Builds Camp is helping to shift the narrative and strengthen the future of our regional workforce.

Together, we’re building more than structures – we’re building confidence, skills, and the next generation of construction leaders.
